Usually in my posts, I have something cool to share with you. Well, today something is fishy… so I’m reaching out for your help!
Here’s the sitch: Corn, in particular, makes me bloat up like a puffer fish. And I don’t know what that’s all about. It’s like clockwork. Every time.
I was recently diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, an autoimmune disease, and wonder if there’s any connection there. Clearly, I’ve got research to do. But a little birdie told me that autoimmune issues and starches have a weird relationship. Am I going to have to puff-puff-pass on corn for the rest of forever? What’s the DEAL?!
I’ve heard some things about starches and grains causing issues in the digestion process and that being the reason for the Paleo way of life, which I am also in the process of researching. I am most definitely not looking for a diet. But I am looking to travel the world and the seven seas. Without feeling like this.
Maybe I’m not the only puffer fish out there. Are you in the autoimmune know-how? Have any suggestions on helpful resources for learning about this wave of weirdness? My fins are primed and my ears are perked!
