“It’s important for Barbies to look different. You know, like…the real people in the world.”
Well Damn Daniel. Barbie finally caught up.
Mattel has finally made serious moves for girls getting their glam on.
The chick who was once our best friend and worst enemy considering her unattainable, unrealistic body shape, now leaves girls with something more than a pretty face and bodacious bod. She is a gal pal we can relate to. Beautiful in a variety of shapes and sizes.
A look into the previous standard set:
“If Barbie were an actual woman, she would be 5’9″ tall, have a 39″ bust, an 18″ waist, 33″ hips and a size 3 shoe,” Slayen wrote in the Huffington Post. “She likely would not menstruate… she’d have to walk on all fours due to her proportions.”
Cute, right?!
Little girls should know how gorgeous they are and live in celebration of their differences. And this is a shift in that divine direction.
One step for the toy world, one giant leap for womankind.
What do you think about Barbie’s evolution?
